The Tone:
This is an internship at EDF power solutions North America, which operates across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The company is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider, delivering reliable, low-carbon energy solutions to a diverse range of clients. The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
Deliverable Preparation: Prepare various engineering deliverables, including detailed plan and elevation drawings, electrical schematics, comprehensive calculations, and project schedules for PV (photovoltaic) energy generation systems ranging from 1 MW to 200 MW scale. Ensure designs align with company safety programs and OSHA safety requirements for construction and system operation.
Project Lifecycle Support: Support projects across their entire lifecycle, from initial development and conceptual design to detailed design for construction, post-construction documentation, and ongoing operations and maintenance. This involves contributing to various stages of project evolution.
Design Document Management: Create, organize, and maintain all documents related to the project’s basis of design throughout the project’s progression. This ensures accurate and accessible records for ongoing and future project phases.
Process Adherence & Refinement: Follow established work practices and conventions within the Engineering team. Actively participate in refining and documenting design and engineering processes, developing best practices, ensuring code compliance, and detailing product and system applications.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with internal Project Managers who are responsible for coordinating project scheduling and obtaining necessary permits for project execution. Ensure effective interactions internally and with external consultants, contractors, clients, and partners.

The Must-Haves
Background: Currently enrolled as a graduate student specializing in design or construction engineering, having already obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience: No specific years of professional experience are required for this internship. However, prior design experience, especially in electrical systems or electrical systems for construction, is beneficial.
Skills: Proficiency in the National Electric Code (NEC) and other model codes, computer-based drafting using AutoCAD, and the use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office suite products. The ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly, both verbally and in writing, is essential.
Bonus: Preferred qualifications include a NABCEP PV Associates certification and experience with industry-standard PV systems and energy modeling tools.
