About The Role

The Deposit Operations Specialist will perform a variety of clerical duties related to Deposit Services. This position provides a wide range of support to Deposit Services Managers and all other bank departments and locations. This position includes reviewing, processing and updating daily work while providing excellent customer service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represent the Bank in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Respond to inquiries and questions from internal and external customers.
  • Balance report totals to general ledger totals daily, locating and correcting errors.
  • Assist with reviewing, processing, and performing daily operational duties.
  • Review and analyze items utilizing fraud software.
  • Assist with debit card fraud review and analyze patterns for fraud prevention.
  • Accept and make account transfers for customers via telephone.
  • Assist with processing daily wires.
  • Assist customers with debit card questions.
  • Must be willing to do repetitive work.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of bank products, services, department procedures and policies, and regulations to ensure accurate handling of customer inquiries.
  • Comply with compliance and privacy policies and procedures to maintain confidentiality and information protection.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulatory rules and regulations governing financial institutions, as well as all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete and pass all required regulatory compliance training as assigned.
  • Perform any additional duties and tasks assigned by management.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to handle high pressure situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills with ability to problem solve with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must live within 45 minutes of the bank’s location listed below.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & LICENSES:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months customer service experience.
  • Minimum 6 months previous banking or general accounting experience.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position. We offer an extensive benefits package that includes, but is not limited to medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Most Full-Time employees are also offered 6 paid holidays and Part Time employees are offered pro-rated paid holidays.
