About the Company:
Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is undertaking Project Kuiper, an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. The goal is to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities globally.
Job Description:
This role is within the Deployment and Release Engineering team at Project Kuiper. The team is responsible for the release engineering and deployment services for the satellite constellation. The successful candidate will be involved in all phases of software development, from initial requirements to deployment and ongoing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in all phases of software development (requirements, implementation, deployment, operations).
• Design flexible and scalable backend services using AWS cloud services (IAM, Lambdas, CloudWatch, API Gateways, etc.).
• Disambiguate high-level problem statements and design solutions to address them.
• Integrate and improve a wide range of software systems leveraging the AWS stack.
• Design scalable solutions for software distribution and deployment to the satellite network, working in collaboration with low-level embedded software systems.
• Proficiency in at least one of TypeScript, Python, GoLang, or Rust is highly desirable.
Qualifications:
• Basic Qualifications:
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in designing and architecting (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) new and existing systems.
• Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in the full software development lifecycle (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations).
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
