Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is undertaking Project Kuiper, an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. The goal is to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities globally.
Job Description:
The Deployment and Release Engineering team at Project Kuiper is seeking a software engineer. This role involves all phases of software development, from requirements gathering and implementation to deployment and ongoing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• System Design: Designing and architecting backend services, leveraging design patterns to ensure reliability and scalability. This includes disambiguating high-level problem statements and designing flexible solutions.
• AWS Expertise: Extensive use of the AWS cloud infrastructure is required, including IAM, Lambda functions, CloudWatch, and API Gateways.
• Programming Proficiency: Proficiency in at least one of TypeScript, Python, GoLang, or Rust is a significant advantage.
• Integration and Improvement: Participating in the integration and improvement of a wide range of software systems utilizing the AWS stack.
• Cross-System Collaboration: Partnering with low-level embedded software systems to design scalable solutions for software distribution and deployment specifically for satellites.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
• Participating in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Designing flexible and scalable solutions to complex problems.
• Integrating and improving software systems within the AWS ecosystem.
• Collaborating with teams working on embedded systems for satellite software deployment.
