About the Company:

The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law is a nonpartisan law and policy institute focused on improving democracy and justice systems in the United States. Job Description:

The Brennan Center for Justice is seeking undergraduate interns to provide research, administrative, and clerical support to staff within its Democracy program. This is an in-person internship located in their New York City office.

Responsibilities:

General Administrative Support: Filing, answering phones, coordinating meetings, drafting routine correspondence, and covering the reception desk.
Substantive Engagement: Opportunities to attend and observe substantive meetings, events, and conversations related to program work.
Research Assistance: Providing support for litigation and assisting in the research and rollout of reports.
Advocacy Support: Aiding the program’s advocacy efforts in areas like Voting, Elections and Government, Judiciary, Federal Reform, Redistricting, and other related projects.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills: Independent self-starter, detail-oriented, energetic, punctual, highly organized, excellent research, writing, and analytical skills, and a passion for the Brennan Center’s issues.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Experience working with data is highly helpful.
Adaptability: Applicants must be open to evolving responsibilities.

Important Information:

Eligibility: Open to current undergraduate students only.
Hours: Approximately 10 – 20 hours per week.
Pay: $17.50 per hour.
Duration: September – December 2025.

School Internship Requirements: The Brennan Center will adhere to school rules regarding internships, including pay stipulations related to receiving credit.
Vaccination Policy: Employees working in the New York and Washington, DC offices are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or meet the legal guidelines for an exemption.
