Delivery Specialist – O’Reilly Auto Parts
The Delivery Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and safe delivery of automotive parts and products to professional customers. This position involves operating company vehicles, managing deliveries, handling financial transactions, and maintaining vehicle integrity. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions:
- Safe and Efficient Deliveries: Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Delivery Management: Utilize hand-held devices for processing deliveries, capturing customer signatures, updating vehicle mileage, and completing daily vehicle inspections.
- Financial Handling: Collect money for C.O.D. (Cash on Delivery) transactions.
- Vehicle Care: Responsible for keeping vehicles clean, well-maintained, and performing daily inspections before operation.
- Security: Ensure the security of delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and all collected monies at all times.
- Customer Returns: Pick up various customer returns (e.g., new items, warranty claims, cores) and accurately complete driver return slips.
- Communication: Report any customer problems or special needs to store management promptly.
- Vehicle Reporting: Immediately report any vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to the store manager.
- End-of-Day Procedures: Ensure the fuel tank is filled and the vehicle is locked and secured at the end of each business day.
- Time Management: Adhere to company policy for clocking in/out.
- Additional Duties: May assist with other store operations, including customer service, sweeping, general stocking and straightening, merchandising, running errands, handling core returns, checking in and putting up stock orders.
- Support Roles: Occasionally assist customers, serve as a cashier, or help with merchandising tasks when business demands (e.g., answering phones, sales and service).
Required Skills, Education, Knowledge, Experience & Abilities:
- Alphanumeric Matching: Ability to quickly and accurately match alphanumeric sequences.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations.
- Driving Record: Driving record must meet the company’s 14/18-point record system standard.
- Licensing: Must possess a legally required state driver’s license and meet company-mandated driving eligibility requirements.
Desired Skills:
- Automotive Knowledge: Familiarity with automotive parts.
- Equipment Operation: Ability to operate other light store equipment.
- Multilingual: Fluency in multiple languages, with Spanish being highly desired.
