About the Internship:
Arch’s 10-week summer internship program (June 2 – August 8, 2025) provides students with hands-on experience in the insurance industry. The program offers challenging learning experiences to help interns explore career choices and develop professional skills. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals in the specialty insurance industry, gaining expertise in various aspects of the field, participating in learning activities, and receiving ongoing feedback.
About the Database Engineering Intern Role:
This internship focuses on database management and infrastructure. Responsibilities include:
• Managing database infrastructure and initiatives: This encompasses migrations, upgrades, and application database schema development.
• Data replication and development program support: The intern will be involved in supporting various development programs related to data management.
• Expanding the SQL server database inventory system: This involves incorporating other database platforms (Azure SQL managed instances, MongoDB on-prem and Atlas implementations, Snowflake, Azure PostgreSQL, and on-prem DB2) and creating dashboard views for all database infrastructure.
• Collaborating with the Database Engineering team: The intern will assist in developing technical data gathering requirements, converting these into processes, and developing PowerBI dashboards to visualize the data.
Qualifications:
• Actively pursuing a degree in Management of Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Security, or a relevant program.
• Strong understanding of SQL and scripting languages.
• Experience in PowerShell or shell scripting is preferred.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Currently a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate student.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire for continuous learning.
• Ability to work effectively as a team player and independently.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Location & Work Arrangement:
The internship is a hybrid position located in Greensboro, NC. It requires 2 days of on-site work and 3 days of remote work per week.
