Description: Data Science Internship/Graduation Assignment

Project Goal: To develop a method to automatically determine the most probable failure mechanism of a replaced printhead based on logging data.

Key Responsibilities:

Failure Mechanism Classification: Develop a method to automatically classify the failure mechanism of a replaced printhead using logging data.
Dealing with Unknown Failure Mechanisms: Implement a solution to handle unforeseen failure mechanisms.
Predictive Failure Warning: Apply the developed method to predict potential failures in printheads that haven’t yet been replaced, issuing timely warnings.
Handling Large Datasets: Work with large amounts of data, including high-frequency sensor data (logged every few seconds) and lower-frequency error codes and usage data (logged hourly).
Dealing with Limited Failure Data: Develop solutions to work with relatively small amounts of failure data (typically 20-30 instances per failure mechanism).

Challenges:

• Analyze and interpret various data types, including sensor data, error data, performance data, and usage data.
• Develop robust classification models to identify failure mechanisms with high accuracy.
• Design and implement algorithms that can handle unknown or emerging failure modes.
• Effectively manage and process large datasets with varying logging frequencies.
• Overcome the challenges associated with limited failure data and extract meaningful insights.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Currently studying Data Science or Data Analytics.
• Seeking a Master’s internship or graduation assignment at a large international company.
• Possesses a critical and inquisitive mindset.
• Has basic Python and SQL knowledge.
• Available for 5 to 8 months, working a minimum of 4 days per week.

Benefits:

Challenging Assignment: Work on a real-world project with expert coaching and guidance.
Internship/Graduation Compensation: Receive €500,- per month.
Travel Cost Reimbursement: Receive travel cost compensation if you don’t have an “OV-weekcard.”
Networking Opportunities: Network with professionals across various disciplines within and outside your field of expertise.
Collaborative and Empowering Environment: Experience a company culture that values collaboration, innovation, and ownership, fostering personal growth and professional development.
