Overview:
The State of Florida is looking for motivated college students and recent graduates to gain experience in state government.
Responsibilities:
As a data science intern, you may be involved in:
• Using tools to interpret data sets and identify trends/patterns.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data needs.
• Assisting with the maintenance and reporting for automation efforts.
• Collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing structured and unstructured datasets.
• Supporting exploratory data analysis.
• Contributing to data quality and governance.
• Conducting research on emerging tools and technologies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of data analytics methodologies and tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data mining, and data cleansing techniques.
• Knowledge of automation and application of automation tools.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of statistics and statistical modeling.
• Ability to collect, evaluate, and prioritize automation opportunities.
• Proven ability to work ethically and with integrity.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be currently enrolled or graduated within the last twelve months from an accredited college or university degree program.
• Working knowledge of database systems and querying languages (e.g., SQL).
