Job Description: Data Science Intern
This internship within TikTok’s Data Science team offers hands-on experience in leveraging data to drive strategic decisions. The team collaborates with various departments, including User Growth, PGC (Professional Content Creators), Content Ecosystem, Social, Creation, Product Infrastructure, and Research & Science.
Responsibilities:
• Utilizing statistical methods to understand user and item interests.
• Building user clusters and communities based on Large Language Model (LLM) labeling and understanding capabilities.
• Translating community discovery results into actionable algorithm strategy suggestions.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Strong foundation in math and data science, particularly statistics.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL coding.
• Basic knowledge of clustering or community-discovery algorithms.
• Experience with Large Language Model applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with Excel, SQL, Python, or R; foundational knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Think-Cell).
• Communication: Business-level English proficiency with excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging stakeholders and presenting findings to non-technical audiences.
• Problem-Solving & Teamwork: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
• User Experience: Being a loyal user of platforms like Douyin, Reds, Reddit, or Discord.
The internship aims to provide practical experience, skill development, and exploration of potential career paths, complemented by social events and development workshops.
