Job Description – Data Science Intern

This internship offers a hands-on experience in the field of Data Science, working alongside a team of bioinformatics and software colleagues.

Responsibilities:

Develop high-quality products: Collaborate with the team to create and improve software solutions for the company.
Improve business efficiency: Develop software solutions to streamline scientific workflows and enhance business processes.
Data integration and management: Work collaboratively to collect, prepare, and manage diverse datasets.
Algorithmic model development: Design and develop algorithms to identify trends and draw conclusions from data.
Machine learning and AI: Apply machine learning and deep learning models, including generative AI, to analyze biological data.
Proactive improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions.

Project Focus:

All intern projects will be strategically and/or operationally important to the business. Summer projects may involve:

Developing software solutions for data analysis and workflow optimization.
Creating machine learning models to extract insights from biological data.
Improving data integration and management processes.

Internship Details:

Duration: 10-12 weeks, starting either May 12th or June 16th, 2025.
Compensation: hourly rate between $21.50 – $28.75, depending on location and cost-of-living.
Relocation Stipend: $5,000 for students located 50+ miles from the internship location.
Eligibility: Undergraduate students pursuing a degree in bioinformatics, statistics/biostatistics, data science, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 0 years of work experience required; previous internships in related fields are preferred.
