General Summary

As a Data Science Intern at Granite Construction, you will collaborate closely with both IT and business teams to analyze, interpret, and model complex data sets, contributing to the optimization of construction processes.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  • Data Analysis: Collect, clean, and analyze data from various sources to identify trends and patterns.
  • Model Development: Assist in developing predictive models aimed at optimizing construction processes and project outcomes.
  • Visualization: Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to summarize findings and recommendations.

Education

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience may also be considered.

Knowledge, Skill And Abilities

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A team player with strong leadership skills, capable of operating effectively within a matrix management environment.
  • Ability to work in a high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Physical Demands

The role requires the ability to talk and hear regularly. Frequently involves standing, walking, sitting, and using a computer keyboard. Occasionally requires reaching with hands and arms. Base Hourly Wage Range

Hourly: $21.00 – $25.00
