Data Entry Specialist | BlueStar US

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at BlueStar US, located in Hebron, KY. BlueStar is a leading global solutions-based distributor of point-of-sale, bar-coding, data collection, radio frequency identification (RFID), and wireless mobility products. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the CDW sales team by ensuring the accurate processing of customer orders and maintaining the integrity of the company’s data systems. The specialist’s work directly impacts the efficiency and reliability of sales operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Interpret incoming documentation: Read and understand customer orders, shipping documents, and other forms to prepare for data entry.
• Accurately enter data: Input information into designated fields using Oracle software, Microsoft Excel, or other ERP systems.
• Verify data accuracy: Confirm the correctness of data both before and after entry, and review margin reports for discrepancies.
• Maintain database consistency: Ensure that data remains consistent and accurate across all company databases.
• Communicate administrative updates: Report any data discrepancies or errors to supervisors and provide updates to customers, buyers, and sales representatives regarding pricing issues or part number changes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with foundational experience in data entry, order processing, or a comparable administrative role.
• Experience: Requires 1–3 years of experience specifically in data entry, order processing, or a similar administrative function, demonstrating proficiency in relevant tasks.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, experienced with Oracle or similar ERP systems, exhibits strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy, possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, and can prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Bonus: An Associate’s degree or higher is preferred for candidates.
