About the Job:

Google isn’t just a software company. The Hardware Operations team is responsible for monitoring the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure behind Google’s powerful search technology.

As an Operations Technician, you’ll be a key player in keeping this infrastructure running smoothly. You’ll:

Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware: This includes servers and their components, as well as server software like Google’s Linux cluster.
Configure complex components: You’ll work with networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches, and networking protocols.
Collaborate on larger installations: You’ll participate in or lead small project teams, developing contingency plans to ensure seamless operations.

A typical day involves manual movement and installation of racks. While it can be physically demanding, you’ll be working with cutting-edge computer technology, which is sure to be exciting.

This role encompasses a wide range of duties, from physical deployment of data center technology to close collaboration with various stakeholders. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that Google’s goals, missions, and projects are delivered in our global data centers.
