Data Analytics Summer Internship – Data & Analytics Tech+ Team

This internship provides opportunities to:

Gain practical experience in data analytics: Learn and apply qualitative and quantitative approaches to develop insights and models.
Work on real-world projects: Contribute to client deliverables, outcomes tracking, and model refinement.
Develop technical skills: Build expertise in leading technologies like Microsoft Fabric/Synapse, Snowflake, AWS, and Google Big Query.
Contribute to data solutions: Support the development of data integration plans, blueprints, and engineering using ELT methods.
Gain experience with data visualization: Support the development of dashboards, analytic models, and reports.
Learn from experienced professionals: Interact with senior staff, leadership, and clients.

Responsibilities:

Gather and analyze data: Research, accumulate, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data from various sources.
Develop data analytics models: Contribute to the development of robust data analytics models and their application in leading technologies.
Support data integration: Support the development of data integration plans, blueprints, and engineering using data pipelines and ELT methods.
Ensure data integrity: Ensure the design and development process includes efficient data integrity and quality controls.
Support data visualization: Support the development of dashboards, analytic models, reports, and other client data visualization models.
Communicate findings effectively: Interact with senior staff, leadership, and clients to communicate economic concepts in an understandable manner.
Contribute to a team environment: Work collaboratively to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.

Requirements:

Technical Skills: Introductory experience with MS SQL, MS Azure Cloud, MS Azure DataBricks, PowerBI, or other Analytics development toolsets is important. Previous internship experience with any of these toolsets is a plus.
Academic Background: Progression towards a master’s or bachelor’s degree in data analytics, math, statistics, or a related field.
Strong GPA: 3.5 GPA or higher.
Excellent Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Problem-Solving Skills: A highly motivated problem solver with strong analytical ability.
Proficiency with Software: Proven capability with MS Excel and relational database program(s) (e.g., MS SQL Server, SSAS, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Tableau, Alteryx, MS Access, MySQL, Oracle, or Teradata).
Statistical Analysis Skills: Experience with statistical analysis programs (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, R) is desirable but not required.

Developing requirements documents: Develop an understanding of key client personas and their use stories to compile relevant business and technical requirements documents.
Data integration and management: Develop and implement data integration plans, blueprints, and engineering using data pipelines and ELT methods.
Data integrity and quality control: Ensure the design and development process includes efficient data integrity and quality controls.
Data visualization and reporting: Develop dashboards, analytic models, reports, and other client data visualization models.
Teamwork and collaboration: Work effectively with a team to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
