Job Description

Role Overview
The Data Analytics Intern at HireShire will work with the analytics and business intelligence teams to collect, clean, and analyze data. The primary goal is to derive insights from HireShire’s HR-tech ecosystem to support decision-making. This role offers hands-on experience with real-world datasets, building dashboards, and generating reports within a fast-growing tech environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist in data cleaning, preprocessing, and validation to ensure data accuracy.
• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in datasets.
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
• Work with SQL databases to extract and manipulate structured data.
• Contribute to predictive modeling and statistical analysis initiatives, under the guidance of a mentor.
• Research and apply best practices in data visualization and storytelling to present insights effectively.
• Document workflows, maintain datasets, and ensure data integrity for ongoing projects.

Requirements
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/MSc degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, IT, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated strong understanding of statistical concepts, data wrangling techniques, and data visualization principles.
• Proficiency in using Excel/Google Sheets.
• Familiarity with SQL for database interaction.
• Knowledge of Python, including libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, and Seaborn, or R.
• Possession of an analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and robust problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote work setup.

Nice to Have (Bonus)
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Exposure to machine learning basics, including libraries like scikit-learn, and concepts such as regression and clustering.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) for data storage or analysis.
• Participation in data hackathons, Kaggle competitions, or analytics clubs.
• Relevant certifications such as Google Data Analytics, Microsoft Data Analyst Associate, or similar.

Hiring Process

4. Managerial Interview: An assessment of your motivation, culture fit, and communication skills.
5. Offer: Receive a formal internship offer, including stipend details and role expectations.
6. Onboarding: Gain access provisioning, receive your training roadmap, and participate in project kickoff.

Stipend
For the United States (Chicago): A minimum of $17.55 per hour, in accordance with United States federal and state minimum wage guidelines for interns. The stipend has potential for increment based on interview scores and skill assessment.
