Job Description: Data Analytics Intern
Role Overview:
As a Data Analytics Intern, you will be an integral part of HireShire’s analytics and business intelligence teams. Your primary role will involve supporting the collection, cleaning, and analysis of data to generate insights across the company’s HR-tech ecosystem. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience with real-world datasets, develop interactive dashboards, and create reports that inform decision-making in a dynamic, fast-growing technology environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in data cleaning, preprocessing, and validation to ensure data accuracy for analysis.
• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify underlying patterns, trends, and anomalies within datasets.
• Develop interactive dashboards and comprehensive reports utilizing business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
• Work with SQL databases to extract and manipulate structured data as needed for various projects.
• Contribute to predictive modeling efforts and statistical analysis under the guidance of experienced mentors.
• Research and implement best practices in data visualization and storytelling to effectively communicate insights.
• Document data workflows, maintain datasets, and ensure the integrity of data for ongoing and future projects.
Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/MSc degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Possess a strong foundational understanding of statistics, data wrangling techniques, and data visualization concepts.
• Proficiency in using Excel or Google Sheets for data manipulation and analysis.
• Familiarity with SQL for database querying and management.
• Knowledge of Python (specifically libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn) or R.
• Demonstrated analytical mindset with keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of working independently in a remote work environment.
Nice to Have (Bonus Qualifications):
• Familiarity with prominent Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Basic exposure to machine learning concepts and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, regression, clustering algorithms).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) for data storage and analysis.
• Participation in data hackathons, Kaggle competitions, or involvement in analytics-focused clubs.
• Possession of relevant certifications like Google Data Analytics, Microsoft Data Analyst Associate, or similar credentials.

Hiring Process:

4. Managerial Interview: An interview to assess your motivation, culture fit within the company, and communication skills.
5. Offer: Receive a formal internship offer, including detailed stipend information and role expectations.
6. Onboarding: Begin the onboarding process, which includes access provisioning, a training roadmap, and project kickoff.
Stipend:
For internships in the United States (specifically Chicago), the minimum stipend is $17.55 per hour. This amount is in accordance with United States federal and state minimum wage guidelines for interns, with potential for an increment based on interview scores and overall skill assessment.
