Job Description: Data Analytics Intern
This internship focuses on supporting data integrity and analysis to drive strategic initiatives across Eagle Point Software. The role offers exposure to various aspects of data analytics, including:
• Data Preparation: Working with the data team to ensure data is properly prepared for use in reporting and analysis.
• Reporting: Building and maintaining reports using platforms like Power BI, Snowflake, and Sigma. This includes transitioning existing Power BI reports to the newer platforms.
• Cross-Departmental Analysis: Collaborating with different departments to understand their needs, gathering data, performing analysis, and presenting actionable insights.
• Strategic Support: Providing agile and responsive data support to address evolving departmental needs and challenges.
• Project-Based Learning: Undertaking a self-directed project aligned with personal interests and career goals. This could involve developing dashboards, building predictive models, or contributing to an internal AI strategy. Mentorship and support will be provided.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Report Transition Support: Assisting in the migration of existing Power BI reports to Snowflake and Sigma. This involves recreating reports in the new platforms while referencing the legacy reports for accuracy.
• Department Strategic Reporting: Regularly meeting with various departments to understand their goals and challenges. This includes conducting weekly “report sprints” – gathering data, performing analysis, and presenting findings.
• Self-Directed Project: Choosing and completing a project based on personal interests and career goals within the context of data analytics (dashboards, coding, AI, machine learning, etc.).
Requirements:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with Power BI or other BI/reporting tools.
• Familiarity with SQL and cloud data platforms (Snowflake is a plus).
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
