Job Description: Data Analyst Intern

This is a Non-Exempt intern position with 40 scheduled hours per week.

Position Overview:
The Data Analyst Intern will work collaboratively with the Myers and Stauffer team to analyze and calculate reimbursement rates and to design and analyze ad hoc analyses for state and federal clients. The ideal intern will have a strong interest in analyzing and leveraging datasets to assess fiscal impacts, inform business decisions, and guide client recommendations.

• Perform all aspects of a project or work in progress, applying gained knowledge to future projects.
• Possess a solid understanding of the work environment, demonstrating punctuality and presence.
• Possess a general understanding of and be able to articulate various services provided to clients.
• Respond to inquiries and requests.
• Strive to attain goals established by direct supervisors.
• Maintain a positive attitude toward self, other professionals, clients, and Myers and Stauffer.
• Develop computer proficiency relative to administrative programs, spreadsheets, word processing, and internet research.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:
• Must be working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred.
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 is preferred.
• Active participation in student organizations and work experience in a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with and/or an interest in Excel or Structured Query Language (SQL) data analytics tools is preferred.
• An interest in health care data analysis is preferred.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Well-organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively multi-task with planning and efficiency.
• Capable of managing multiple deadlines and prioritizing assignments.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Proficient use of applicable software programs, including Microsoft Office suite.

The Team & Work Style:
Interns will report to one of the firm’s Managers or Senior Managers and will be assigned a Peer Contact to provide additional support. While general business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, they can vary based on business needs.
