Job Description: Data Analyst Intern (Lisbon, Portugal)

This is a 1-year internship in Lisbon, Portugal, following Cisco’s hybrid work approach. Applications are open until further notice.

Responsibilities:

Statistical Modeling and Analysis: Perform statistical modeling and analysis of structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends and patterns. Develop metrics, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings.
Data Needs Understanding: Collaborate with technology teams and business users to define data requirements for analysis projects.
Data Acquisition: Partner with development and data management teams to identify and collect necessary data from internal and external sources.
Model Maintenance: Create and maintain statistical models for ongoing data review and ad-hoc analysis.
Data Visualization: Utilize data visualization tools and techniques to create dashboards, reports, and presentations that effectively communicate data insights and trends.
Data Pipeline Development: Build and maintain data pipelines to support analytics projects and reporting.
Ad-hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc data analysis to answer specific business questions and ensure data quality.
Customer Focus: Maintain a strong focus on internal customers, exhibiting a professional demeanor and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Continuous Learning: Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a willingness to quickly adapt to new concepts, frameworks, and technologies.

Qualifications:

Education: Currently enrolled in the penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program (must remain a student throughout the internship).
Language Skills: Fluent in English (written and spoken) is required. Knowledge of other European languages is a plus.
Skills: A “can-do” attitude, strong teamwork skills in a global environment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven data and analytical skills (including programming, data visualization, and automation), strong problem-solving abilities, ability to work independently and collaboratively, a customer-focused approach, ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, proactive approach with ownership of tasks and challenges, ability to prioritize and multitask.
