Job Description: Data Analyst Intern (Lisbon, Portugal)
This is a one-year internship based in Lisbon, Portugal, following Cisco’s hybrid work approach. The internship begins in January/February 2025 and applications are accepted until further notice.
Responsibilities:
• Statistical Modeling and Analysis: Perform statistical modeling and analysis of structured and unstructured datasets to develop metrics, reports, and visualizations of trends and patterns.
• Data Needs Assessment: Work with technology organizations and business end-users to understand data and analysis needs and develop technical requirements.
• Data Acquisition: Partner with development and data management teams to identify and capture necessary data from internal and external sources.
• Model Creation and Maintenance: Create and maintain statistical models for ongoing and ad-hoc review and analysis of data.
• Data Visualization: Utilize data visualization programs, tools, and techniques to generate dashboards, reports, and presentations that effectively communicate data insights and trends.
• Data Pipeline Development: Build and maintain data pipelines to support analytics projects and reports.
• Customer Focus: Maintain a strong focus on internal customers, exhibiting a professional demeanor and high intellectual curiosity. Demonstrate the ability to rapidly learn new concepts, frameworks, and technologies as needed.
• Ad-hoc Analysis & Data Quality: Perform ad-hoc data analysis to answer specific business questions and audit data quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in the penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program (must remain a student for the duration of the internship).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; knowledge of other European languages is a plus.
• Strong “Can-do” attitude and teamwork skills in a global environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
• Proven data and analytical skills, including programming, data visualization, and automation.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with global teams.
