LoneTree Capital Data Analyst Internship (Summer 2024)

About LoneTree Capital:

LoneTree Capital is a leading investment firm specializing in [insert specific area of expertise, e.g., private equity, real estate, etc.]. They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Data Analyst Intern for the summer of 2024.

Job Description:

The Data Analyst Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the firm’s data management and analytics initiatives. This individual will collaborate with the larger team to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity. They will also contribute to expanding the firm’s data warehouse as they migrate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.

Responsibilities:

Data Ecosystem Management: Assist in designing, maintaining, and scaling LoneTree’s CRM/data ecosystem.
Data Quality Assurance: Conduct various data validation and quality assessments during the CRM transition.
Data Anomaly Detection: Audit, identify, and articulate any data anomalies encountered during backend data migration.
Data Governance Implementation: Assist in implementing data governance policies, including data cataloging and lineage.
Business Development Support: Contribute to projects that advance the strategic objectives of the Business Development team.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate possesses strong technical prowess coupled with self-motivation and teamwork skills. They are comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment and have a keen eye for detail.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Proficiency in SQL and/or Snowflake
• Familiarity with Power BI and/or Tableau (a plus)
• Familiarity with Salesforce (a plus)
• Experience designing and implementing optimal data schemas (a plus)
• Knowledge of/Experience with implementing best practices in data governance (a plus)
Academic Background: Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Computer Science.
Experience: Previous internship or co-op experience in an analytical role is a plus.
Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience manipulating and cleaning/distilling large data sets
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

Location and Dates:

• This is an in-office role located at 330 Madison Avenue, 24th Floor, New York, NY 10017.
• The internship will run from May 2024 to August 2024.
