Job Description

D23 Event Marketing Intern

This internship offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the team responsible for producing and marketing D23 events. The selected candidate will gain hands-on experience and contribute to various aspects of event management, including:

Communications:

• Assist in drafting and researching articles, event communications, and recaps.
• Build presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to crafting, setting up, and fulfilling event surveys.

Project Management:

• Coordinate team meetings and agendas.
• Manage the master event calendar.
• Track production milestones.
• Regularly update event documents based on team input.

Event Support:

• Participate in brainstorming and master planning sessions.
• Create run-of-show documents.
• Support on-site operations, including interacting with guests and coordinating specific areas of operation (e.g., check-in).

Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible event schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Disney Enthusiasm: Knowledge and genuine interest in the full portfolio of The Walt Disney Company’s past, present, and future, including films, animation, television, and theme parks.
Multitasking: Capability to work on multiple projects in a positive, pro-active manner.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Teamwork & Independence: Demonstrated success partnering with teams and working independently with minimal direction, prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Google Suite & Presentation Skills: Extremely comfortable working in Google Suite, Keynote, and designing quality, in-depth presentations.
Professionalism: Present a professional business image of excellence through professional dress, written and oral presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

D23 Knowledge: Familiarity with D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, and deep knowledge of Disney’s history, brands, processes, and culture.
Industry Experience: Previously completed an internship within the entertainment industry or 1-3 years of experience working in hospitality, event planning, project/program management, or marketing/membership.
Advanced Writing & Editing: Advanced writing and editing experience.
Digital Tools: Knowledge of digital online tools such as WordPress.
Design & Production: Design, event, and production experience.

Education:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program.
• Graduated from a college/university within 6 months at the time of application posting.
• Currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
• A junior, senior, or recent graduate with a major or previous coursework in Event Hospitality Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Age: Be at least 18 years of age.
Previous Disney Program: Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
Work Authorization: Possess unrestricted work authorization.

Additional Information:

Work Hours: Candidate should be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
Location: Able to provide own housing and transportation to and from work in the Glendale, CA area.
