Job Description:

This is a co-op/summer internship position within Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL), focusing on cybersecurity. ACL has a nearly two-decade history of developing cutting-edge cyber solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC). Their mission is to provide groundbreaking Information Operations (IO) and Computer Network Operations (CNO) technologies.

The role involves working on challenging cybersecurity projects within a dynamic and collaborative environment. Successful candidates will have a passion for problem-solving and contributing to innovative solutions. The work will be highly technical and requires proficiency in various areas of cybersecurity.

Specific Responsibilities and Skills:**

The ideal candidate will possess strong software development skills in C, C++, and Python, along with experience in debuggers like gdb, Valgrind, and windbg. A deep understanding of network protocols and inter-process communication is essential. The ability to execute guided research tasks is also crucial. Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:

User-space or kernel-space development
Networking protocols and socket application development
Debugging (e.g., gdb, windbg, OllyDbg, Valgrind)
Guided technical research explorations

Desired (but not required) Skills:**

While not mandatory, experience in the following areas is beneficial:

Applied research skills
Embedded systems development
Compiler Design and Implementation
Machine-learning/Artificial Intelligence
Static and dynamic reverse engineering on x86/x86_64, MIPS, ARM, or PowerPC
Vulnerability Analysis of source code or binaries
IDS and PSP Design and Implementation
Cyber/IO/CNO R&D
Current Top-Secret clearance

Team and Project Involvement:**

Selected interns will become integral members of a team of applied researchers and engineers, contributing to projects involving cutting-edge customer and internally funded R&D. Interns can expect to present results and demonstrate prototypes to teammates and program customers.

Security Clearance:

This position requires a Top-Secret security clearance, and applicants must be U.S. citizens. A government security investigation will be conducted.

Work Location:

The position is located onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility; remote work is not an option. Lockheed Martin offers various work schedules, including condensed schedules offering additional time off.
