Job Description: Cyber Security Engineer at Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL)

This position is within Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL), a group that has been developing cutting-edge cyber solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) for nearly two decades. The ACL’s mission is to provide groundbreaking Information Operations (IO) and Computer Network Operations (CNO) technologies to national security personnel.

The job requires working in a dynamic cybersecurity environment, tackling complex and challenging problems. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative setting and enjoys finding solutions in ambiguous situations. The team focuses on revolutionary cyber capabilities.

Specific Responsibilities and Skills:** The role involves contributing to projects that redefine the cutting edge of customer and internally funded R&D. Specific skills needed include:

Strong software development skills: Proficiency in C, C++, and Python is essential.
Debugging expertise: Experience with debuggers like gdb, Valgrind, and windbg is required.
Networking knowledge: A deep understanding of network protocols and inter-process communication is crucial.
Research capabilities: The ability to execute guided research tasks is a key requirement.
Experience in one or more of the following: User-space or kernel-space development, OS/Network/Application design, vulnerability and malware analysis, reverse engineering, IO, and CNO technology development.

Desired (but not required) Skills:** While not mandatory, experience in these areas is highly valued:

• Applied research skills
• Embedded systems development
• Compiler design and implementation
• Machine learning/Artificial Intelligence
• Static and dynamic reverse engineering (x86/x86_64, MIPS, ARM, or PowerPC)
• Vulnerability analysis of source code or binaries
• IDS and PSP design and implementation
• Cyber/IO/CNO R&D
• Current Top-Secret clearance

Additional Responsibilities:** Team members will participate in proposal writing, presenting research findings, and demonstrating prototypes to colleagues and clients. All ACL team members are eligible for a Lockheed Martin Incentive Plan.

Security Clearance:** This position necessitates a government security clearance and requires US citizenship. A Top-Secret clearance is desired but not necessarily required at the time of application.

Work Location and Schedule:** The role is based onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. A 4×10-hour work week with 3 days off per week is offered. Lockheed Martin also offers various alternative work schedules.
