Job Title: Customer Experience (CX) and Marketing Internship
Overview: This is a full-time, paid 10-12 week internship for the summer of 2026. The selected intern will work in either the Frederick, MD, Mechanicsburg, PA, or Westminster, MD branch location. The internship program is scheduled to run from mid-May through early August 2026, with typical hours being Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Position Overview:
The internship position at Horizon Farm Credit (HFC) aims to support both the Customer Experience (CX) and Marketing departments. The intern will assist in planning and executing initiatives related to customer engagement, branding, messaging, and advertising across HFC’s five-state territory. Key experiences will include supporting a cross-departmental CX committee, contributing to content creation and lead generation efforts, and assisting with various special projects and assignments.
Areas of Responsibility include:
• Planning, coordinating, executing, and participating in Farm Credit customer meetings and events.
• Representing Farm Credit at customer-facing events, meetings, and in communication.
• Initiating, managing, and completing several projects specific to the CX and marketing departments.
• Creating content based on internal and external research for digital efforts.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of association-wide campaigns and events.
• Learning about the Farm Credit System and its mission.
• Understanding the collaborative relationship between Farm Credit teams, notably within Business Development and AgFirst Farm Credit Bank.
• Networking with teammates, industry partners, and fellow interns throughout the internship.
• Gaining exposure to a variety of organization career roles and responsibilities, providing a holistic view of how Farm Credit supports its customers and community members.
Requirements:
• Ambitious student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Ag Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Preferred expected graduation dates: Between May 2027 – December 2028.
• Strong academic background and a GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Preferred experience with coursework: Business, Marketing, Communication, Journalism, Ag Courses, Media, etc.
• Some travel will be required with this internship.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently with general supervision and proven self-starter.
• Detail-oriented, independent judgment skills, strong organizational skills.
• Flexible to a changing work environment.
