Role Summary: Customer Advocacy Intern
The Customer Advocacy Intern is instrumental in strengthening Paylocity’s unique message and voice across existing online channels and review outlets, leveraging the voice of the customer. This role is responsible for growing positive market sentiment around the brand and product. Key activities include producing customer case studies and client videos, building market credibility via third-party review sites such as G2.com and Gartner Digital Markets, and encouraging existing Paylocity clients to serve as references for potential clients.
Working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, Senior Customer Marketing Specialist, and the Senior Public Relations and Social Media managers, the intern will support ongoing initiatives designed to:
• Build belief in Paylocity’s products.
• Generate new interest in the Paylocity Advocates Program.
• Help retain existing clients through positive brand interactions and third-party reference sites.
Key Responsibilities:
• Management, triage, and response to customer reviews across third-party review sites.
• Support ongoing review gathering activities through email campaigns and vendor outreach tools.
• Identify and vet existing clients for potential reference, promotion, and case study partnerships, using defined target parameters.
• Partner with the Marketing Operations team to manage recurring review gathering email cadences and sends.
• Support the Social Media and PR teams with new content and ideas derived from customer advocacy quotes and storylines.
• Catalog and maintain a collection of client quotes, statistics, and referenceable materials within shared GTM tools like SharePoint and Highspot.
• Collaborate with the SEO team to boost AI search results and citations using review site listings.
• Identify opportunities for campaigns and cross-team marketing efforts that prioritize the client story.
• Proactively work alongside the Creative teams to ensure client voice and brand guidelines are supported within net-new Paylocity content.
• Support cross-team collaboration with a strong emphasis on client voice and experience.
Requirements:
• Education relevant to marketing, communications, public relations, or multimedia is preferred.
• Experience with email and digital best practices and style.
• Experience working with internal and agency partners and managing contracted work.
Preferred Skills:
• Ability to communicate cross-functionally (both verbally and written) to share best practices across a diverse Go-To-Market (GTM) organization.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to set and adhere to deadlines and advance projects with guidance.
• An individual who thrives in ambiguity and project-based work that will frequently change based on company needs.
