Crop Inputs Retail Summer Internship
Cargill’s Crop Inputs Retail Summer Internship is an excellent point of entry for students pursuing careers in the agriculture industry. As an intern, you will gain exposure to retail sales, agronomy, operations, and grain.
Responsibilities:
• Agronomy:
• Identify weeds, crop diseases, stage growth, plant populations, insect problems, nutrient deficiencies, and soil problems
• Plan and execute customer events
• Assist with setting up customer demonstration trials
• Operations/Grain:
• Learn about the operations of a grain elevator
• Load and unload rail cars
• Move grain
• Perform maintenance and general day-to-day duties
• Retail Sales:
• Assist with crop input retail activities
• Receive and ship crop input merchandise
• Become familiar with fertilizers and pesticide products and services
• Provide recommendations and solutions to meet customer needs
Qualifications:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma from an accredited program graduating between December 2024 and August 2026
• Able to complete a 16-week internship May – August 2024
• Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license in good standing
• Ability to work in environmental conditions with potential exposure to sun, wind, rain, pollen, dust, and insects
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Comfortable working independently
• Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Preferred Qualifications:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agricultural Business, Agronomy, Plant Science, or Soils Science
• Previous agriculture experience, sales experience, and/or scouting experience
• Geographically flexible and willing to relocate
