Job Description: Crop Inputs Retail Summer Internship
This paid summer internship at Cargill offers a comprehensive experience in the agricultural sector, providing exposure to retail sales, agronomy, and grain operations. The internship lasts at least 16 weeks (May – August 2025) and is designed as a stepping stone for future career opportunities within Cargill.
Responsibilities:
• Agronomy: Learn to identify various agricultural issues including weeds, crop diseases, growth stages, plant populations, insect problems, nutrient deficiencies, and soil problems. Participate in customer events, assist in setting up demonstration trials, and receive training from an agronomist. weekly meetings with the location team will be part of the role.
• Operations/Grain: Gain hands-on experience in grain elevator operations. This includes loading and unloading rail cars, grain movement, maintenance, and general daily tasks.
• Retail Sales: Assist with receiving and shipping crop inputs, familiarize yourself with fertilizers and pesticides, and learn to provide product recommendations and solutions to customers based on their needs.

Location: Internship positions are located in Alberta (Beiseker, Carseland, Equity, Fairview, McLennan, Rycroft), Saskatchewan (Kindersley, Rosetown, Unity), and Manitoba (Dauphin). Availability of specific locations will depend on hiring needs.
Qualifications:
• Required: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma from an accredited program, graduating between December 2025 and August 2027. Ability to commit to a 16-week internship (May – August 2025). Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license. Ability to work in various outdoor conditions (sun, wind, rain, etc.). Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Legal authorization to work in Canada.
• Preferred: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agricultural Business, Agronomy, Plant Science, or Soil Science. Previous experience in agriculture, sales, or scouting. Geographic flexibility and willingness to relocate.
