UAE National | Credit Risk Manager | Al Futtaim Finance | Al-Futtaim

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Al-Futtaim, located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Al-Futtaim is a diversified privately held regional business with operations spanning automotive, financial services, real estate, retail, and health across more than 20 countries. This role is crucial for assessing and managing credit risk within the Al-Futtaim Automotive divisions, ensuring robust financial health and contributing to the development of resilient risk management frameworks. The Credit Risk Manager optimizes assessment processes, maintains strong reporting, and drives technology improvements to streamline credit decision-making.

What You’ll Actually Do
Manage Credit Risk: Engage in detailed credit risk assessment for both Leasing and Inhouse Finance within the Al-Futtaim Automotive divisions, encompassing thorough analysis of credit portfolios and proactive monitoring of key credit risk metrics related to product, channel, exceptions, and vintage performance.
Develop Risk Frameworks: Support the development of a robust Credit Risk Framework by crafting Risk Policy Guidelines, implementing a Policy Renewal Program, and managing Portfolio Credit Management, while also documenting performance against risk profiles and providing improvement suggestions.
Perform Underwriting Services: Provide expert underwriting services for Lease applications from individuals (up to 2 units) and Corporates (up to 30 units), and for Credit applications from individuals (above AED 200k) and Corporates (below AED 1 million), all requiring detailed bank statement reviews.
Ensure Risk Governance: Uphold stringent risk governance by preparing and submitting the Risk Newsletter, Risk Council Deck, and Credit Committee Deck within deadlines, alongside implementing and monitoring the Credit Delegation framework in line with Group/Risk requirements.
Drive Process & Technology Improvement: Support the development of technology infrastructure, including the deployment of IT systems, manage annual policy reviews and portfolio thresholds, and create training programs to enhance capabilities and risk decision-making across all levels.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in credit risk management, preferably within automotive finance, with experience in regulatory and technical matters affecting automotive financing.
• Skills: Proficiency in credit risk analysis and underwriting processes; Ability to develop and implement credit risk frameworks; Strong communication and reporting skills; Proficient in using risk management software and IT systems.
