Credit Department Intern

Mason Companies is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Credit Department Intern to join our team in Chippewa Falls, WI. The role is part-time and designed to start in February or March.

About the Role

As a Credit Department Intern, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our credit reports and providing essential analytical and clerical support to the credit department. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop practical skills in financial reporting and credit risk management.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive credit risk reports and dashboards for management review.
  • Execute tasks established within the company’s program for the efficient follow-up and collection of receivables.
  • Regularly update and maintain credit reports and all related documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Secondary Duties

Additionally, you may be called upon to:

  • Provide backup assistance and analyst functions as necessary to other credit analysts.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned, offering exposure to various facets of the credit department.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), strong interpersonal abilities, and a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and exceptional organizational capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Desired experience with Excel analytical tools such as pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, and basic formulas.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to take initiative and work independently.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Advanced coursework in accounting or a credit-related field is highly desired.
  • Prior experience in customer service is strongly desired, demonstrating a client-focused mindset.
