• Team: Part of the Credit Analytics team, working closely with the Situs Asset Management Team and Servicing team.
• Mission: Manage, monitor, and report on the performance of a $90B+ portfolio of largely transitional commercial real estate loans.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Access database
What You’ll Actually Do
• Model New Assets: Model new assets in loan performance models, which involves making customizations based on negotiated loan terms and coordinating with underwriters, servicing, and asset management.
• Review and Summarize Documents: Review and summarize deliverables and milestones provided under loan documents, then enter those requirements into an Asset Management-focused Access database.
• Conduct Financial Analysis: Spread financial statements and perform analyses for loan to value, debt yield, and debt service coverage ratios.
• Prepare Reports: Prepare monthly asset-level reports using Excel and assist in the preparation of quarterly collateral valuations and various ad-hoc reports.
• Gather Market Data: Gather relevant market data, including information on rent, occupancy, absorption, and sales trends.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related subjects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A basic understanding of real estate finance, terminology, and performance metrics is essential.
• Experience: 0-2 years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically at an Analyst level role or external equivalent.
• Skills: Strong analytical and computer skills, including a thorough knowledge of Excel with the ability to perform cash flow analyses and work efficiently with large datasets. The role requires attention to detail, strong reading comprehension, and the ability to work in a team environment while thinking independently.
• Skills: Strong business writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective communication.
