Role Overview

Are you a creative individual with a fervent passion for basketball and digital storytelling? The Creative Content & Media Intern will be a pivotal member of our dynamic media team, responsible for capturing, crafting, and managing the compelling digital narrative of MADE Hoops events. This role offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the fast-paced world of live sports media, whether you’re behind the lens, in the editing suite, designing captivating graphics, or engaging as an on-screen personality. You will play a crucial part in bringing the excitement and talent of grassroots basketball to a wider audience, directly contributing to the digital presence of future NBA and WNBA stars.

Key Responsibilities (Your day-to-day activities will be tailored based on your specific skillset and focus area(s))

  • Videography & Photography (On-Site):
    • Capture high-energy gameplay, dynamic B-roll, and authentic sideline content during live events to craft a compelling visual narrative of the weekend’s action and atmosphere.
    • Utilize professional-grade equipment to secure high-quality footage and stills that highlight athlete performance and event excitement.
  • Video Editing:
    • Produce engaging highlight reels, captivating social media clips, and comprehensive recap videos that effectively tell the story of each event.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro is a strict requirement for all video editing and videography applicants.
  • Social Hosting & Talent:
    • Serve as an engaging on-camera personality, conducting insightful player interviews and interacting enthusiastically with the audience to digitally bring the vibrant event atmosphere to life.
    • Develop and deliver concise, energetic content for various social platforms.
  • Graphic Design:
    • Design visually stunning social media assets, compelling thumbnails, and impactful promotional materials that align with the MADE Hoops brand identity.
    • Create designs that enhance content visibility and audience engagement across all digital channels.
  • Media Management:
    • Efficiently assist with the sorting, tagging, and meticulous organization of large volumes of raw footage and photo assets, ensuring a well-maintained and easily accessible internal media library.
    • Implement systematic file naming conventions and backup procedures.
  • Community Management:
    • Actively engage with our vibrant digital community by responding to comments, direct messages, and fostering meaningful conversations across all social media platforms.
    • Monitor social trends and audience sentiment to optimize engagement strategies.
  • Analytics:
    • Track and report on key social media performance metrics, providing actionable insights to help optimize content strategy, increase reach, and enhance overall digital presence.
    • Assist in identifying successful content types and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Expert Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro: This is a non-negotiable requirement for all candidates applying for video editing or videography-focused roles.
  • Strong Organizational Skills & Attention to Detail: Essential for efficient media management, file organization, and ensuring accuracy in all content produced.
  • Ability to Thrive in a Fast-Paced Environment: Demonstrated capability to perform effectively and deliver high-quality work in the high-energy, dynamic atmosphere of live sports events.
  • Clear and Professional Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective team collaboration, content creation, and audience engagement.
  • Deadline Management: Proven ability to manage multiple creative tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Passion for Basketball & Youth Sports Culture: A genuine enthusiasm for the sport, understanding of its culture, and awareness of current digital trends.

Preferred (But Not Required) Skills & Experience:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud Proficiency: Experience with other Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Photoshop, Lightroom, and After Effects for graphic design and motion graphics.
  • Strong Portfolio/Demo Reel: A compelling collection of previous creative work that showcases your skills in videography, editing, graphic design, or on-camera talent.
  • On-Camera Hosting/Interviewing Experience: Prior experience acting as on-camera talent or conducting interviews, demonstrating confidence and engaging presence.
  • Social Media Analytics Familiarity: Knowledge of social media analytics tools and an understanding of how to interpret data to inform content strategy.
