Job Summary

The Count Team Attendant is responsible for the precise collection of cash boxes from the gaming floor and the accurate counting of cash and tickets within the count room. This role strictly adheres to company Internal Control Policies and Procedures, as well as all relevant state regulations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Collects gaming device drop boxes from HRM machines, kiosks, and other sources, strictly adhering to company’s Internal Control Policies and Procedures, as well as local and state regulations.
  • Records accurate counts of each box using the designated count system or sheet.
  • Prepares and maintains all necessary paperwork to support and reconcile all counted money and tickets.
  • Operates count machines in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Ensures compliance with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations. Maintains confidentiality where required.
  • Responsible for minor repairs and routine maintenance of Count room equipment.
  • Maintains the general upkeep and cleanliness of the Count room.
  • Notifies Supervisor promptly of any malfunctioning equipment.
  • Assists other Team Members in moving and safeguarding the box cart.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support department operations.

Required Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Knowledge of internal controls, regulations, policies, and procedures pertinent to the Finance department.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft applications and the ability to quickly learn count room-specific computer applications.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Virginia Racing Commission License.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • The Team Member must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful environment.
  • While performing job duties, the Team Member is frequently required to engage in repetitive motions, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, standing, bending, teamwork, basic math skills, use of a 10-key calculator, and currency counter.
  • The Team Member may also be required to lift, push, and pull up to 25lbs independently.
  • The Team Member is sometimes required to work with other Team Members in moving the box cart, which may have a maximum weight of 400lbs.
  • The Team Member may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
  • The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise, and smoke.
