Counseling Intern | Rally Point Ministry

The Tone:
This is a counseling internship at Rally Point Ministry, with opportunities to work directly with clients in person at our counseling centers in Elgin, IL, and St. Charles, IL, as well as remotely via tele-health. Rally Point Ministry is fundamentally driven by a mission to help individuals experiencing hurt find strength and healing by intentionally integrating both ministry principles and professional counseling practices. This internship is designed for individuals who care deeply about this unique approach, offering a vital role in providing direct therapeutic services to clients, gaining invaluable feedback and guidance from an experienced supervisor, and being equipped with practical tools and training that will significantly prepare them for a successful future in the counseling field.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Engagement: Work directly with Rally Point Clients, addressing common therapeutic issues and guiding them towards strength and healing.
• Clinical Supervision: Actively learn and receive consistent feedback from an experienced supervisor, alongside participating in biweekly consultations with other therapists for case support.
• Streamlined Practice: Focus predominantly on counseling, as dedicated support staff manage inquiries, initial session scheduling, billing, and insurance processes.
• Caseload Development: Benefit from in-house marketing efforts that generate ongoing client referrals, ensuring a consistent and manageable caseload.
• Administrative Excellence: Receive comprehensive training and simple tools to provide a consistent approach to client paperwork, documentation, and other administrative tasks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing one of the following graduate degrees, indicating an entry-level stage in a professional counseling career: LCPC, LPC, LCSW, LSW, AMFT, LMFT, Psy.D, or PhD.
• Experience: Possess a strong desire and commitment to provide therapy for adolescents and young adults, specifically those aged 12-25 years, and their families.
• Skills: Demonstrate deep compassion and care for helping hurting people; exhibit a proactive, organized, and involved approach to clinical work and team collaboration; embrace a start-up mindset, characterized by a readiness to learn quickly and initiate new tasks independently.
• Practical Requirements: Ensure reliable transportation for in-person work at the Elgin or St. Charles offices, and/or guarantee access to high-speed internet and a quiet, confidential work-from-home environment for conducting tele-health sessions.
