This professional internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the magic. The approximate dates for this internship are June 2026 to January 2027, and it will be located in Orlando, FL.

What You Will Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)

As a Costume Production & Sustainment or Costume Production & Development Costumer, you will be integral to bringing new character and entertainment costumes from concept to reality, based on designer renderings. You will also play a crucial role in maintaining and replenishing existing costumes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Researching and facilitating the manufacturing of new and replacement Entertainment costumes with a focus on sustainability.
  • Partnering with Entertainment and Costuming Operations to ensure costume quality and design are consistently maintained.
  • Coordinating costume fittings with Entertainment and Workroom personnel.
  • Sourcing fabrics and commodities essential for costume creation and sustainment.
  • Creating work orders and purchase orders to manage production processes.
  • Facilitating fittings and actively managing project budgets.
  • Working collaboratively with external vendors and various internal partners.
  • Troubleshooting challenges related to costumes and providing dedicated customer support to talent and operating partners.
  • Interacting regularly with Entertainment Show Producers, Directors, Designers, and Entertainment and Costuming Operating Managers, as well as Safety partners.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in the Theater, Film, or Fashion Industry.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Excel, OneNote, PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Smartsheet, along with a willingness to learn new software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong partnering skills, capable of building effective relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Education Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a Senior or graduate student.
  • Majoring in or possessing previous coursework in:
    • Costuming
    • Entertainment Costume (theme park focus)
    • Apparel Design
    • Textiles
    • Fashion Merchandising
    • Fashion Design
    • Fine Arts
    • Or an equivalent field of study.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization.
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program.
  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.
  • Be fully available Sunday through Saturday for the entire duration of the internship, working 40 hours per week.
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
  • Possess a valid US driver’s license and have the ability to operate a company vehicle.
  • Able to maintain a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.

Compensation & Benefits

The pay rate for this role in Orlando is $18.75 per hour.
