Cost Accounting Intern | Teledyne Technologies Incorporated

The Tone:
This is an internship position at Teledyne LeCroy, a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, located in Chestnut Ridge, NY. Teledyne Technologies Incorporated provides advanced technology and high-reliability solutions across various industrial growth markets, including aerospace and defense, factory automation, environmental monitoring, and medical imaging. This role offers hands-on experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment, supporting ongoing business initiatives and special projects while gaining exposure to critical financial processes. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, Chestnut Ridge, NY
• Pay: $44500–$59300 yearly
• Team: Works closely with the Accounting and Finance team.
• Mission: To support cost accounting functions, inventory management, and financial reporting processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint (preferred), ERP systems such as SAP (plus)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Inventory Analysis: Assist with inventory analysis, reconciliations, and the creation of supporting schedules.
• Variance Investigation: Support inventory control activities, including cycle count reviews and investigations into variances.
• Cost Analysis: Assist in analyzing purchase price variances (PPV), work order variances, and various manufacturing costs.
• Reporting Support: Help prepare monthly account reconciliations, journal entry support schedules, and manufacturing cost reports.
• Project Participation: Participate in special projects related to inventory management, cost accounting, process improvements, and ERP initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field, with a preference for rising Juniors, Seniors, or graduate students.
• Experience: Prior internship, coursework, or project experience related to accounting, finance, manufacturing, or supply chain is a plus.
• Skills: Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements; strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Bonus: Interest in pursuing a career in Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Finance, or Corporate Accounting; curiosity about how products are designed, manufactured, and costed; desire to develop technical accounting and financial analysis skills; a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn.
