Cost Accountant | Oldcastle Infrastructure

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Oldcastle Infrastructure, located in Atlanta, GA. Oldcastle Infrastructure, a CRH company, is a leading provider of innovative outdoor living products and utility infrastructure solutions for the water, energy, and communications markets throughout North America. This role is critical for supporting the Energy & Communications business, ensuring accurate product costing, maintaining strong cost controls, and providing meaningful financial insight to operations across multiple manufacturing locations.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: In-person, Atlanta, GA
• Team: Supports the Energy & Communications business within the National Solutions Division, partnering with plant and operations leadership across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Mission: Own and maintain the integrity of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and standard costing structures to ensure accurate product costing, strong cost controls, and meaningful financial insight for the business.
• Tech Stack: SAP, Advanced Excel, SQL, MS Query, VBA

What You’ll Actually Do
• Costing Ownership: Own product costing and Bill of Material (BOM) integrity for materials, labor, and overhead, collaborating with operations and engineering on cost impacts.
• Inventory Valuation: Maintain and monitor moving average cost methodology to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods sold.
• Rate Management: Establish and maintain standard labor and overhead rates in collaboration with plant leadership.
• Variance Analysis: Analyze manufacturing variances to proactively identify root causes, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
• Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in cost accounting processes, controls, and data standardization across a multi-site manufacturing environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a focus on cost accounting or manufacturing finance.
• Experience: 3+ years of relevant cost accounting or manufacturing finance experience, including strong experience with standard costing, BOMs, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variances. Experience with complex ERP systems is required.
• Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency, strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and data integrity, the capacity to work independently, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and strong communication skills for effective collaboration across finance and operations.
• Bonus: SAP experience is strongly preferred, as is experience with SQL, MS Query, or VBA, and experience supporting multiple plants or locations in a manufacturing environment.
