The Tone:
This is a full-time role with a growing residential construction and real estate organization in Richmond, VA, for which Insight Global is a hiring partner. This position offers an accounting professional the chance to develop experience in project costing, financial reporting, and budgeting. This individual will contribute directly to accurate financial tracking and business performance within the organization.

• Mission: This individual will own the accuracy of project cost tracking and financial reporting for residential construction and real estate projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Job Costing: Maintain and reconcile job cost records for active projects.
• Invoice Processing: Review and process vendor invoices, purchase orders, and change orders.
• Month-End Support: Assist with month-end close activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare job cost reports and budget-to-actual analyses.
• Team Partnership: Partner with operations and purchasing teams to ensure accurate project cost tracking.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, providing a foundational understanding of financial principles.
• Experience: 1-3 years of professional experience in accounting, cost accounting, or financial analysis.
• Skills: Proficiency in Excel; Strong attention to detail; Excellent organizational abilities; Clear communication skills.
• Bonus: Exposure to the construction, homebuilding, or real estate industries; Prior public accounting experience; Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems.
