Corporate Treasury Summer Analyst Program (New York)

This 10-week summer program offers aspiring finance professionals the opportunity to gain in-depth experience within Morgan Stanley’s Corporate Treasury and Capital Planning department. You will be placed on a specific team, gaining exposure to their daily operations while developing a broad understanding of the department’s functions.

Corporate Treasury and Capital Planning

This department provides essential corporate finance advisory services to senior management and internal business units. Their responsibilities include:

Optimizing the firm’s liquidity and capital base: ensuring financial stability and resource allocation.
Managing foreign exchange and interest rate exposure: mitigating risks associated with currency fluctuations and interest rate changes.
Coordinating relationships with regulators, rating agencies, and creditors: ensuring compliance and maintaining a strong financial standing.

Training Program

The program begins with comprehensive training covering:

Firmwide culture and values: immersing you in Morgan Stanley’s work environment and guiding principles.
Finance fundamentals: building a strong foundation in financial concepts and tools.
Corporate Treasury and Capital Planning specific training: diving deep into the department’s specific operations and methodologies.

Throughout the program, you will receive guidance from a dedicated direct manager and peer mentor, and participate in networking events, team-building sessions, and community service activities.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Summer Analyst, you will be involved in:

Reporting and analysis of the firm’s financial profile: analyzing data related to funding, liquidity, and capital.
Stress testing, scenario planning, and peer benchmarking: evaluating potential risks and comparing the firm’s performance against industry standards.
Developing strategies for optimizing capital base, debt portfolio management, hedging currency exposure, and managing liquidity: contributing to the firm’s financial stability and profitability.
Analyzing regulatory changes and their impact on business processes: ensuring compliance and adapting to evolving industry regulations.
Communicating and coordinating with various internal teams: collaborating effectively across different departments.
Assisting with day-to-day responsibilities, special projects, and presentations: gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.
Participating in a summer-long project culminating in a department-wide presentation: showcasing your skills and analytical abilities.

Currently pursuings

To be considered for this program, you must:

• Be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (BSc or BA) in any concentration, with a demonstrated interest in financial services.
• Be graduating between December 2025 and June 2026.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Be self-motivated and committed to excellence and integrity.
• Possess strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Be eager to learn and adapt to new challenges.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and advanced quantitative abilities.

Legal Requirements

Compensation

The expected base pay rate for this role is $34.85 per hour at the start of employment. Final compensation will be determined on an individualized basis and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
