Detailed Job Description (Corporate Strategy & Development Internship):

This internship offers a chance to contribute significantly to Thermo Fisher Scientific’s strategic and operational goals. Interns are assigned projects based on their skills and the company’s current needs. Summer projects may include:

• Supporting mergers and acquisitions (M&A) strategy, including identifying and tracking acquisition opportunities, participating in M&A evaluation teams, leading divestitures, performing acquisition valuations, and conducting industry and competitive research.
• Analyzing industry dynamics, competitive landscapes, SEC filings, Wall Street research, and market reports.
• Supporting special projects aligned with the Corporate Development team’s objectives.
• Conducting investment research, performing financial analysis and modeling of potential investments, and assessing innovative business plans for improvement.
• Developing investment proposals, evaluating business model viability, industry attractiveness, and strategic fit.
• Collaborating with Strategic Capital leadership to prepare investment committee briefings.
• Building relationships within the venture and startup ecosystems to source investments.
• Developing relationships with relevant Thermo Fisher groups.
• Representing Thermo Fisher at venture, industry, and startup events.
• Supporting portfolio companies.

The internship lasts 10-12 weeks, starting either May 12th or June 16th, 2025, and is contingent on student availability. The hourly rate ranges from $21.50 to $28.75, depending on location (adjusted for cost of living), and a $5,000 relocation stipend is available for students living 50+ miles from the internship location.
