About Disneyland Resort Communications & Public Affairs

Disneyland Resort Communications & Public Affairs is responsible for managing the resort’s reputation through various initiatives, including:

Media Relations: Building and maintaining relationships with journalists and media outlets.
Public Relations: Managing the public perception of the Disneyland Resort through strategic communication efforts.
Corporate Social Responsibility: Engaging in community outreach, fostering diversity and inclusion, and promoting environmental sustainability.
Government Relations: Building and maintaining relationships with government officials and agencies.
Internal Communications: Communicating effectively with employees and cast members.
Executive Communications: Supporting senior executives in communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

This team works collaboratively with other business units across the resort to ensure a consistent and positive image for the Disneyland Resort.

Corporate Social Responsibility Intern Job Description

This internship opportunity focuses on supporting the External Affairs team in areas such as:

Community Outreach: Engaging with local communities through various initiatives.
Diverse Stakeholder Engagement: Building relationships with diverse stakeholder groups, including community leaders, organizations, and Business Resource Groups (BERGs).
Disney VoluntEARS: Supporting cast member volunteer initiatives.
Government Relations: Assisting with government relations activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to the development of corporate social responsibility strategies.
Develop and devise creative visuals, including infographics and PowerPoint presentations.
Collaborate with the Public Affairs team to tell the Disneyland story in innovative and creative ways.
Build relationships with local and company partners to amplify the Disneyland Resort’s message.
Respond to inquiries received through departmental email and voicemail.
Collaborate in the planning, project management, and execution of external affairs programs and events.
Assist with preparation, communication, and facilitation of Disney VoluntEARS projects.
Support the coordination and execution of workforce development activations.
Provide general administrative support.
Demonstrate passion and commitment to diversity and inclusion by inviting different perspectives, fostering an inclusive work environment, and supporting workforce diversity.

Strong administrative and presentation skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities while maintaining professional poise.
Strong collaborative and integration abilities.
Proven ability to work well independently or in a group and demonstrates initiative.
Project management skills that can craft the overall vision of a project with key partners to deliver results.
Enthusiasm for building new relationships and nurturing existing ones.
A quick learner who enjoys taking on new challenges.
Proficient in basic computer functions for a Mac/MS Office environment.
Willingness to learn new software applications.
Available to work evenings and weekends when needed.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Experience in CSR or community-related roles.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Familiarity with monday.com or Smartsheet.

Education Requirements:

Seniors or graduate students studying Business Management, Marketing, Communications, or Public Affairs.
Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at the time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
