The Tone:

• Mission: To offer hands-on exposure to how risk management operates in a leading financial services organization by supporting real risk-related initiatives.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other productivity tools

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support real risk-related initiatives across compliance, financial crimes, technology risk, operational risk, and governance functions.
• Perform meaningful project work, risk assessments, reporting, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Develop durable skills in analysis, communication, collaboration, and structured problem solving.
• Gain insights into how the firm identifies, manages, and mitigates risks to protect clients, employees, and the firm.
• Contribute to protecting Schwab and its clients by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to fraud, money laundering, sanctions, and technology.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, entering junior-level standing by the internship start date, and have not completed your bachelor’s degree prior to the internship. Pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Public Policy, or a related field.
• Experience: Able to commit to 40 hours per week during the 9-week Summer 2027 internship program and begin full-time employment between August 2027 and September 2028. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills through academic, professional, or extracurricular experiences, including experience analyzing data and drawing meaningful conclusions.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to organize and present information clearly. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Bonus: Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship. Willing to relocate at personal expense if required. Demonstrated curiosity, learning agility, and willingness to take on new challenges. Interest in risk management, compliance, governance, cybersecurity, financial crime prevention, or financial services.
