Position Title: Corporate Legal & Compliance Summer Intern
About the Role:
Embark on a stimulating summer internship as a Corporate Legal & Compliance Summer Intern with a leading international, publicly traded S&P 500 company. This is an exceptional opportunity for a driven individual interested in legal and compliance functions within a fast-paced corporate environment. You will gain invaluable hands-on experience, contributing to critical research, in-depth policy analysis, and strategic projects that directly impact our global operations, particularly within the evolving landscape of insurance and financial services. This role is designed to provide practical exposure to the complexities of corporate legal and compliance work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth legal and industry research on emerging and evolving insurance topics, such as artificial intelligence, and synthesize findings into comprehensive summaries and insightful presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Perform meticulous analysis of current proprietary insurance policy language on specific issues, including state cancellation and non-renewal requirements, and proactively identify and recommend potential updates or enhancements to our insurance forms.
- Research key competitors and market trends, developing concise summaries of their programs, products, and strategies to inform our competitive positioning.
- Provide essential support for various special projects, collaborating with different departments and contributing to initiatives that drive compliance and business objectives.
- Assist with other assigned tasks as needed, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to supporting the Legal & Compliance team.
Qualifications:
We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals who are eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a global organization.
- Education:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Public Relations, Management Consulting, Organization and Management, Advertising, Communication, Sales, Human Resources, Management, or a closely related analytical field.
- Target Graduation Dates: December 2026 – May 2028.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Skills & Experience:
- Required: Demonstrated experience in legal research.
- Preferred: Prior experience working within a corporate environment, adept at managing and balancing competing priorities effectively.
- A strong interest in the insurance and/or financial services industries.
- Aspirations to work within an international publicly traded S&P 500 company, or previous corporate background is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with the investment management business and/or legal documentation in support of an investment management business is an advantage.
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit coupled with a continuous desire for learning and professional growth.
- A proven team player who collaborates effectively with colleagues across various functions.
- A self-starter who can work independently, efficiently manage multiple tasks/priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Compensation:
This internship offers a competitive hourly wage of $26 – $28.
