Job Description: Corporate Development Intern
This internship is with SAS’s Corporate Development team, responsible for all aspects of acquisitions and technology in-licensing partnerships. This includes: sourcing, negotiation, due diligence, business case development, execution, and integration.
Intern Responsibilities: Interns will perform real, meaningful work, not just menial tasks. Specific responsibilities may include:
• Researching potential acquisition and partnership targets: Identifying companies of interest to SAS.
• Assisting with due diligence: Supporting the evaluation of potential M&A transactions and partnerships.
• Analyzing M&A transactions:** Studying relevant transactions in the technology space and creating/maintaining valuation comparables.
• Industry and company research:** Conducting research relevant to SAS’s strategic and M&A efforts.
• Supporting partnership renewals:** Working with various departments (Product/R&D, Legal, Finance) on the renewal process.
• Assisting with partnership renegotiations:** Collecting and analyzing data, participating in calls, and performing scenario modeling.
• Ad-hoc analysis and research projects:** Contributing to strategic initiatives and IPO readiness efforts.
Required Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• Enrolled in an accredited program and not graduating before December 2025.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Basic understanding of financial statements and financial modeling.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and initiative.
• Interest in analytics and technology.
• Alignment with SAS values (curious, passionate, authentic, accountable).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Canva, Adobe, PowerPoint, or Excel.
Location and Dates:
The internship is based in Cary, NC, and runs from May 20th to August 8th, 2025 (with flexibility for different academic calendars). The internship is 12 weeks long.
