Senior Analyst Corporate Strategy and Development | Paylocity
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Paylocity, located remotely within the U.S. Paylocity is an award-winning provider of cloud-based HR and payroll software solutions, offering a complete platform for the modern workforce. The company develops tools that help businesses automate and streamline HR and payroll processes, attract and retain talent, and build a strong workplace culture. This position is vital in assisting with the development and execution of strategic efforts around M&A, capital markets, special projects, organic growth opportunities, and business development in alignment with the board and executive team.

• Team: Assists Managers and Directors of Corporate Development, communicates directly with Senior Management, and interacts regularly with the CFO.
• Mission: This person identifies, analyzes, and supports the execution of strategic growth initiatives, M&A opportunities, and capital market activities to align with executive leadership goals.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy: Identify and prioritize strategic initiatives, shaping strategy and M&A focus areas.
• Research: Research and analyze high priority strategic markets, including industry mapping and deep dives into M&A and partnership opportunities.
• Analysis: Conduct ad hoc analyses and develop financial models.
• Execution Support: Partner with and drive cross-functional efforts in all phases of M&A execution including diligence, business case creation, financial modeling, integration, and capital markets activities.
• Reporting: Prepare board and/or executive level strategic and financial presentations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree; Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of highly relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate development, or transaction services, with demonstrated exposure to M&A transactions. Direct experience supporting M&A execution, including diligence, financial modeling, and deal analysis.
• Skills: Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including building operational, acquisition, and pro forma models independently; demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and independently; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Exposure to public equity or debt capital markets; software or tech transaction experience; strong interest in and knowledge of the software or technology sector.
