Job Description: Copywriter Intern

Ogilvy is seeking a Copywriter Intern who is passionate about writing and possesses a strong understanding of copywriting craft and execution across various mediums. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver capable of thinking conceptually while understanding the nuances of different writing styles and adapting to diverse brands and target audiences (from candles to tech to insurance). The intern should demonstrate a broad reading habit and a portfolio showcasing adaptability in voice, tone, and target market.

Responsibilities:

• Learning and adapting to a fast-paced agency environment and deadlines.
• Developing creative concepts and writing various copy forms, including headlines, taglines, social media posts, video scripts, and manifestos.

Requirements:

Exceptional writing skills and a substantial volume of writing and reading.
Strong conceptual thinking abilities combined with an understanding of copywriting execution and craft.
Adaptability to work across various brands and industries.
• A portfolio demonstrating the ability to adjust writing styles and target different audiences.
• A willingness to jump in and deliver high-quality work immediately.

Program Details:

Duration: June to August (10 weeks)
Location: Chicago or New York City
Work setting: Hybrid/in-office
Compensation: $17—$22 USD per hour (varies based on factors such as location and experience)
Full-time, paid internship

High conversion rate to full-time or freelance positions (70%). Real client work experience will be provided.
