Job Description: Copywriter Intern

Ogilvy is seeking a Copywriter Intern who is insatiably curious and observant, a creative problem-solver, and a “dot connector” who loves new experiences. The ideal candidate writes and reads extensively, possesses strong writing skills, and can conceptualize big ideas while understanding the execution, craft, and nuances of various copywriting forms. They believe there are no dead mediums, only bad writing. The ability to adapt to diverse writing styles and target audiences across various categories (e.g., candles, tech, soda, insurance) is crucial.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Learning and adapting quickly to a fast-paced agency environment and deadlines.
• Developing and presenting creative concepts.
• Writing various copy forms, including headlines, taglines, social media posts, video scripts, and manifestos.

Requirements:

• Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility in copywriting across different mediums and styles.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Internship Details:

Location: Chicago or New York City.
Duration: Full-time, paid internship from June to August.
Work Setting: Hybrid/in-office.
Compensation: $17—$22 USD/hour (specific compensation varies based on location, experience, and other factors).
Deadline: January 31st, 2025, at 11:59 pm ET.
Potential for Full-Time Employment: A 70% conversion rate from internship to full-time or freelance positions (subject to agency finances and workflow). Interns work on real client projects.
