Job Description

This position is for a Cooperative Education Program, designed for students studying civil engineering or building/construction sciences. The program is for the Fall 2025 term and typically involves three alternating semesters, providing exposure to various aspects of the construction industry, including estimating, project management, and field experience.

Duties:
• Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the construction process.
• Participating in quantity takeoff and quantity estimating activities.
• Working with the submittal process, including maintaining appropriate logs, and reviewing and approving shop drawings and submittals.
• Preparing transmittals for distribution to ensure proper project documentation.
• Assisting in various stages of a project, including jobsite setup, permitting, and closeout.

Desired Skills and Qualities:
Candidates should possess strong computer skills, particularly with spreadsheets, demonstrate good communication skills, and show a willingness to handle responsibility.

Requirements:
• Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university.
• Must be pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Building Science.
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week during the spring semester (likely referring to the co-op work term).
• Must have completed their college freshman year.
• Must have a desire to pursue a career in the construction industry upon graduation.
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must hold a valid Driver’s License.

Environment: Work is performed mainly in both indoor and outdoor settings, involving exposure to all types of weather and temperature conditions. Travel from site to site is also required.
