The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Sunoco LP, likely located in Dallas, TX. Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership with extensive operations across North America, the Greater Caribbean, and Europe. This Paralegal position is critical for managing fuel supply contracts and related activities with dealer customers, ensuring adherence to established laws, regulations, and company policies. The role directly supports Sunoco’s operational integrity and commercial relationships by handling essential legal and contractual documentation and processes.

• Mission: This person owns the drafting, review, and negotiation of fuel supply contracts with dealer customers, ensuring adherence to legal and company standards while managing the full contract lifecycle.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Contract Drafting: Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including dealer and distributor contracts, amendments, terminations, deeds of trust, promissory notes, and ancillary documents.
• Contract Lifecycle Management: Manage the full contract lifecycle by ensuring compliance with process metrics, assisting with issues and escalations, and securing necessary approvals and signatures.
• Legal Correspondence: Prepare critical legal correspondence such as violation and default notices, contract terminations, and renewal documents.
• Reporting and Documentation: Generate monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports for internal customers like Accounting, Internal Audit, and Executive Administration, while maintaining proper filing of records.
• Integration and Procedure Development: Collaborate with management, counsel, and various departments to establish and implement procedures for integrating newly acquired contracts and properties, and assist with developing additional contract procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal studies or with a nationally recognized contract administration certification, or an equivalent degree, signifying an early-career level in contract management.
• Experience: 1-4 years of experience within a contract management environment.
• Skills: Possess strong professional knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and legal risks; demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication for effective stakeholder interaction; manage tasks with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality; work independently or collaboratively with strong interpersonal and team-working skills.
• Bonus: Prior experience in the wholesale fuel distribution business; transactional experience reviewing and preparing real estate documents, closing instructions, and dealing with attorneys, title companies, and lenders; experience in lease administration; detail-oriented approach with the ability to work with little supervision; proficiency in MS Office products and Salesforce; sound reasoning skills for multi-tasking under pressure; Notary commissioned in Texas.
